Apple and Tempura
I went to Big Apple (=New York City) from
Big Tempura (=Tokyo) in 1983.

Both of these big cities are crowded with cars,
people and big buildings.

The big difference is that the Apple city was filled
with energy who are chasing their dreams and
the Tempura city just want sell stuff to you and
make money.
The million people on the trains look like zombies
the living dead.

Every other person I met in NY was a dancer,
singer, boxer, actor with lots of dreams.
Everyone in Tokyo commute to 9 to 5 working
places (actually, 9 to 11pm) 40 years.

The other difference is that the Apple has people
from 200 countries all together in the same streets,
so that there is a great sense of respect to each
other.

The Tempura city doesn't seem to realize that
there are others on the same planet.

Lastly, " I Love NY " t-shirts and mug cups are
everywhere, but there's no such thing for the
city of Tokyo at all.

I don't feel any " Love " or " Passion " from the
people in Big Tempura Big Sushi.
