     Anne Frank Exhibition in Tokyo

On Tuesday 15 Dec, 11.00 hours the travelling
exhibition ‘Anne Frank – a history for today’ will
go on display at the Sophia University in Tokyo.

The Dutch Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs,
Frans Timmermans, will open the exhibition.
The Secretary of State is visiting Japan as part
of the events marking 400 years of trade relations
between the Netherlands and Japan.

Students and lecturers from the university can
visit the Japanese language exhibition, and take
part in a related workshop, until 24 December.
The exhibition will then travel on to schools in
Kyoto and Hiroshima.
The placements of the exhibition have been made
possible with the help of the Dutch Embassy.

The international travelling exhibition
'Anne Frank– a history for today’ places the story
of the life of Anne Frank against the background
of the Holocaust, with extracts from the diary of
Anne Frank and photos of the Frank family forming
a unifying theme.
These are supplemented with other personal
accounts of the consequences of exclusion
and persecution.

Different copies of the exhibition travel throughout
the world.
A total of over 10 million people in 1,850 cities
worldwide have visited the exhibition.
