A family on the platform

Good news....
This week I was standing near a couple with
a young daughter about 3 years old.
The parents were talking to each other and the
daughter walking/playing around the parents
on the platform.
Three things made me notice this family.

a) The parents were not noisy. While I could see
she (and the father) were watching watching her
the mother never yelled at her to "be
careful". "Stay near" it is dangerous.
She obviously has already taken the time to
explained and taught the daughter how to behave.
The daughter would only go a set distance and
then come back to hug her mother's leg.
It was really wonderful to watch.
The daughter enjoyed her freedom and was
responsible to be within her space
-- she communicated with the
mother by coming back and hugging --
and the mother would touch her head
while continuing to talk with her husband.

b) The child also looked very relaxed without
stress.........It was obvious she know her parents
were there paying attention to her without
talking to her. The girl displayed a deep sense
of security.
It is this kind of parental love and caring that
makes children WANT to behave...........
Scaring them into behaving only makes them
fearful of authority -- and become "dead"
in the mind.

c) The parents also were communicating with
each other.....and sharing their thoughts.

It really made my day happy............
I wonder how many people on the
train platform at Akebane noticed this?
