Marjon in the tennis court
My good friend Marjon gave me a call today
after 3 years of not meeting up.
She and I have known each other for 10
years.
The moment I told her that I visited a
concentration camp in southern Germany,
she said " Dachau? " and she is right.

Marjon and I would meet in a restaurant in
Oudekerk or elsewhere in Amsterdam
each time I'm in town and talk about how
you pursue your dreams by overcoming all the
difficulties right at your face.

3 years ago, it was in a restaurant near Vondelpark
in Amsterdam on a rather windy and cold night in
September.

Marjon's spirit wasn't in the best shape although
she is an international-level tennis player with a
very strong challenging heart.

It reminded me myself when I quit being a fighter,
so that I could understand what it's like.

Her voice tonight showed " New Marjon " and
she did have a good news of getting married
next year.

I could imagine her going through the long tunnel
with a torch in her hand, looking for what she
needs to do.

Especially because she had those days, I am very
happy to hear about it.

Hardship, toughness will give you greater days
later on.
Not all the balls you hit in the tennis court will do
the best job. You will get smashed and beat
approx 50% of time.

Welcome tough days and happily deal with your
challenges.

I am proud of Marjon who is intelligent, yet
casual, brave, kind-hearted, never-giving-up,
internationally-peace-minded ...
She is very well-balanced person.

Keep chasing the ball and hit it back to the other
side of the net.
At each game, you are smarter and stronger.
Only by challenging something that's pretty
scary, you can grow as a person.
Even if you do something 1000 times, if it's an
easy piece of cake, there's nothing there that
you can learn.

Congratulations, my dear friend, Marjon,
