どっちが先？

デパートでエレベータを待っていた。ベビーカーも2台待っていた。扉が開いた瞬間にどこかから猛スピードで走ってきた７才位の子供が２人、みんなの前を突っ切って、降りる人よりも先にエレベータへ乗り込んで「ママ、何階？」と叫んだ。
即座にママは「人が降りるのが先でしょ！」と子供たちに。

私の順番が来て、乗り込んだ時、子供たちに言った「『降りる人が先でしょ』って、ママは正しいこと言ってくれていいね」。お母さんがこっちを見て「どうも」。

Bag People and Boots Kids

To me, the most depressing things I see in my daily life are ..

a) In Japan: So many people carry Louis Vuitton bags and wallets etc. Even 12 year old children do so.

b) Outside Japan: I come across young Japanese people who must be in their twenties and yet belong to a travel tour group to follow the flag like sheep. They are all dressed cool with cowboy boots and so on. Often boys are with their girlfriends and wives. Those ladies don't seem to care the fact that their partners just follow the flag instead of enjoying the real adventure of visiting new places.

This is the result of how the Japanese society is designed. Here is the manual book to follow. Don't think. Just do what you are told.

Monkey See. Monkey Do.

Louis Vuitton の雑誌広告にカトリーヌ・ドヌーブが出ていた。ざっと思い出せるだけでも、J・ドゥミ、ルルーシュ、トリュフォー、メルヴィル、ブニュエル、テシネ、オゾン、オリヴェイラ、トリアーなど一流監督たちとの仕事。

監督をはじめとし、周辺の社会的、思想的、哲学的にハイレベルの人達が彼女を人として大きくしたはず。セザール賞も受賞、オスカーノミネートも多数の大女優。今、生きているフランス人女優としてはジャンヌ・モローに次ぐ大御所。女優としてだけでなく文化人として、芸術にうるさいフランス人が認める。

だからこそLouis Vuitton を持ってもおかしくない。
中身も経験もないのに買いまくる日本人をフランス人だけでなく世界が笑っている。今や小中学生も持ってる。
最悪な事実は大枚をはたいておきながら、全然ぜんぜんゼンゼン似合わないどころか、その人の人間性に疑問をもたらす。

人が持つと自分も持ちたがることを "Monkey See. Monkey Do."と言うがそのメンタリティを世界は理解できない。
理解できないだけでなく、その「お金があるから買う」という短絡性が多くの人を落胆させている。

その奇妙な傾向は映画「グラン・ブルー」「クロコダイル・ダンディー」「ぺイネ・愛の世界旅行」でも、工場のロボット的な日本人という形で登場。

A baby and a pet

In May 2007, Japan started something really unusual called "Baby Postbox". If you want to dump your baby, just bring her/him to this mailbox type of thing.

On May 15, they've got the first boy abondoned in the box. They found out that he is 3 years old already.

I recalled about it as I heard a news yesterday that two 3-foot long crocodiles were found in Kanazawa City, Japan. Someone must have dumped the crocodiles as they grew too big.

If they round up the usual suspects, they should know that it might be the same guy who did both.

Bye Bye Pet

金沢で１メートルのワニが２匹見つかった。大きくなって飼えなくなったペットのワニを捨てたらしい。
「赤ちゃんポスト」というひどい呼称の施設がオープンすると3才の子も置き去りにされたことを思い出した。同一犯の犯行か？
